There comes a point in everyone’s life where you think, what am I doing and where am I going? We had collectively come to a crossroads in our life’s journey that forced us to rethink our careers and where we were headed…a stay-at home mother, a journeyman drywall finisher, a phlebotomist, and an accountant. We all shared something in common, our love for baking. We had an old family recipe that we thought people might love. Kim’s grandmother, Emma, taught her the art of pie baking at the age of 12. Kim passed on her passion for baking to six of her daughters, three of whom are the co–founders of Kemmy’s Pies. But there was one other daughter, Emmy, who we were only blessed with for a short time. The name “Kemmy’s” was chosen to represent a combination of all of these names.
Our kitchen is located at the Willits Skunk Train Depot. A labor of love goes into each of our products, and every pie that we make is completely handmade. We believe it is important to support our local agriculture and source as many local and organic ingredients as possible.
We currently sell pies to local markets and specialty stores in Mendocino, Humboldt, Lake, and Sonoma Counties. Sweet pies are always delivered freshly baked, never frozen.
